![]() I also love the buttons, but it isn’t everyone’s cup of tea. The warm lighting for me is amazing! I don’t personally find it the most comfortable experience to read in complete darkness with blue/ white lights including the Paperwhite and have never liked the black background on white text on my devices. I use the warm frontlights a lot on my Oasis as I read a ton at night. For me, the paperwhite is the device I take around with me and use to read in the tub (dropping something I bought for $80 in a slippery environment is more palatable than something that cost $180- bought both on sale), and the oasis is what I use to read at home.ĭo you need portability on a device? If so, do you carry your current kindle in your pocket/ smaller bag or do you carry your stuff in a backpack/larger bag/ keep things mainly in a car? If the latter, and you mainly read at home anyway, and think you may like a larger screen, then I’d say consider the oasis.Īlso do you often read at night in either dim light or in the dark? If so, do you usually use night mode or do you think you’d prefer warm lighting? If you mainly read in the day, and barely use the frontlights on your current device, then the warm light feature (which alongside the size, and potentially form factor, are the primary selling points of the device). ![]() There are pros and cons to both and it really depends on your use case. ![]() I also have the funds to buy a new device without selling anything, but I don't want to hog this device when someone else could use it. The price isn't really an issue because I am selling my current kindle and it's accessories. ![]() I am a college student that is constantly on the go and I currently live with a lot of pets. also, while I will always have a case on it, durability is really important. trust me when I say that I really, really do need it to be waterproof and, like I said before, I did already want an upgrade but wasn't going to justify it with no reason.Īnyway, I am now debating between the paperwhite and oasis, but I am leaning more towards the oasis due to the warm light, adjusting light, and the side buttons.įor those of you that have had both devices or feel strongly about one or the other, could you please tell me why? I've read reviews and articles but I would really like to hear from "real" people. until I realized I didn't have a waterproof kindle. Well, this past week, my parents decided our pool membership was too expensive for what we get out of it and they decided to buy an above ground pool. because I liked it so much, I was a little bummed I didn't get one of the fancier versions. I, of course, ended up falling in love with it. Another reason I bought the standard version is because I didn't think I needed the waterproof feature because "I read away far enough from the pool or beach". This was my first e-reader and I was a little afraid of not liking it or not using it too much (because I hate reading on my phone). I bought the 10th generation kindle last October during prime day. You may or may not receive a reason.Ī complete and up to date list of rules is available on the new Reddit view Failing to do so will end up on your post being removed and/or your account banned.
